Interesting Facts About Carousel Marina

Carousel Marina came into existence in the 1960's as a full-service marina. It's name was taken as a result of many scenes from the historical movie Carousel being filmed at the location of the present marina. It was owned for many years by the Pierce family and was always known for it's quality of service and location. Now it has developed into an extremely pleasing condominium and boating center. The present owner, Jack Cogswell, has a long history of boat building and marine operations in Marblehead, MA, Florida and Costa Rica.

Located on the East side of Boothbay Harbor, it presents an unequivocal view of Maine's famous sunsets directly across the harbor from Carousel Marina. Equally pleasing is the ability to see first hand the working boats and pleasure craft as they enter and leave the inner harbor.

Mariners can enjoy the facilities of Carousel Marina including patio dining, clubhouse with TV room and game room, wireless internet service, easily accessible fuel dock, automobile parking and overnight rooms available for the use of transient boaters or their guests.

Also, boaters can avail themselves of all the ammenities of the town of Boothbay Harbor by walking across the quaint, nearby footbridge. It is a short walk from Carousel Marina to the center of town. There, shopping for groceries, gifts, souvenirs, etc., are all readily available and make for a very pleasant diversion while docked at Carousel Marina
